01-01-2013 Open Mikeless Webshow at StageIt

Mike Dees will be playing in Mike Viola's usual Wednesday night StageIt slot for a series we're calling "Open Mikeless Wednesdays." This time he will have the full electric band with him. Along with the usual original Southern-fried power pop, he will be performing a secret Mike Viola cover song. We hope you can join us for this pay-what-you-want show.

Stageit is an online venue that allows musicians to stream exclusive LIVE concerts to fans. The vibe is incredibly intimate often featuring performers playing from their homes, directly from their laptop. Here's how it works according to the Stageit folks: Go to http://www.stageit.com/mike_dees/open_mikeless_wednesday/17829 , click signup to set up an account and then click the BUY button. You will then have an opportunity to purchase credits (which Stageit calls "Notes" ; 10 Notes = $1.00). Notes allow you to pay for tickets to see shows and to tip performers during the show. This show is "Pay What You Can," which means you can pay whatever you can afford (minimum 1 Note). Once you have Notes, they can be used for any show! See you on the stage!

11-21-12 StageIt Show

I know this is short notice, but after watching Mike Viola's excellent StageIt shows I've decided to do one of my own. Wednesday at 7PM CST I'll be the unofficial opening act streaming live in a pay-what-you-want show. If you haven't been a
ble to attend a show because of distance this is the perfect opportunity to check out an intimate concert without leaving the house (or even putting on pants.) Come hang out if you can!

News snafu

10/18/2012
Looks like all the news from 2012 on the website has disappeared!
I'm working on fixing it, but in a nutshell:
The backing band is entirely new, we have 2 new music videos, still working on getting the next album released, and the Edge has reopened at 532 South Cooper and I'm back hosting Songwriter night every Sunday at 9PM.

New Guitarist

03/31/12

Chris Wood has joined the band on guitar. He also plays with one of my favorite Memphis bands, Kitchens & Bathrooms.

48-Hour Music Video

02/24/12
My song "It's A Hit" (from the forthcoming new album) has been chosen by FuelFilm for their 48 Hour music video challenge. We'll be filming the video this weekend. Should be a blast!

The Edge

09/11/11
For the first time in 3 years (barring illness and flood), I won't be hosting Songwriter Night at the Edge tonight. The Edge Coffeehouse closed its doors Thursday. Thanks to Frank James for supporting original Memphis music for as long as he could. Tonight is going to be weird...
